The DOT Organization, Inc.
Dreams of Tomorrow
DOT is a non-profit 501(c) (3) organization
Our goal for the Teen Obesity “Health Works!” Program is to assist overweight teens/adolescents in learning about the nutrition and exercise needed to maintain a healthy lifestyle, while reducing risks of developing health complications, such as childhood diabetes. Our emphasis on the importance of good health in young children and teens will increase awareness about the negative effects of poor food choices.
Furthermore, The DOT Organization will promote youth involvement in an exercise/sports regimen.
We intend to advise and counsel teens through eighteen (18) workshops specifically designed to address youth obesity issues and the challenges they face. We will assist teens in maintaining a well-rounded and healthy lifestyle. After completing the 18-session series, participants will be given a resource list with community sponsored activities, local YMCA/YWCA programs, and other relevant data.
